The NCNW members work through a committee structure to accomplish the organization’s work in the community. NCNW Greater Atlanta Committees overview:

  • The Business Directory Committee gathers information from NCNW Greater Atlanta members and local businesses in an effort to build a resourceful online directory.

  • The Communications Committee creates, updates, and manages the Section’s website, social media accounts, electronic communications, and printed materials.

  • The Education Committee acts as a liaison to the Section Members and explores partnership opportunities in Atlanta area and surrounding communities.

  • The Foster Care Initiative Committee is committed to serving at risk, abused and neglected youth. The committee works with Carrie Steele Pitts Home year-round holding trunk parties and sending care packages to students who are going off to college.

  • The Health Committee promotes health and fitness by providing information regarding health care awareness in our community.

  • The Hospitality Committee coordinates refreshments; extends a warm welcome to Members and visitors; recognizes achievements, illnesses, birthdays and bereavements of our Members and their families.

  • The Membership Committee develops and implements membership recruitment activities, annual membership drive and membership orientation.

  • The Outreach Committee develops and organizes projects to assist and enhance the quality of our community. The Outreach Committee plays a crucial role in expanding the reach and impact of the Greater Atlanta Section of NCNW.

  • The Paraphernalia Committee sources NCNW branded items and recommends these items for Section-wide wear.  

  • The Social Justice/Political Action provides the Section with information and education on the political process that impacts our community and supports voter registration activities.

  • The Program Committee coordinates the total NCNW programs in order to guarantee all-out efficiency of the purposes of NCNW.

  • The Public Relations Committee provides a positive and professional image of NCNW Greater Atlanta Section within the Atlanta community by promoting community awareness of section events and activities using print media, radio and television, and advertising.

  • The Ways and Means Committee conducts fundraising activities to support the projects and programs of the Greater Atlanta Section.

  • The Volunteer Committee is comprised of individuals who express a willingness to serve during  section events and community initiatives.
